Social standards and amfori BSCI

Intercoop House & Garden joined the amfori Business Compliance Initiative (amfori BSCI) in 2017, which was the beginning of Intercoop’s sustainability activities. amfori is an association of over 2,000 mostly European members, all of whom are committed to greater sustainability along the supply chains. This is achieved through social (BSCI) and environmental (Business Environmental Performance Initiative, BEPI) standards. In the meantime, well over 90% of Intercoop suppliers have a valid amfori BSCI audit.

Intercoop takes responsibility for its CO2 emissions

By implementing effective measures to reduce emissions (Scope 1, 2 & parts of 3 in acc. with the criteria of the GHG Protocol), Intercoop achieved a reduction of over a third of its emissions in 2022 compared to 2019. As anticipated, Intercoop’s total emissions in 2023 increased slightly due to the fact that the workforce was back to full strength. However, emissions per full-time equivalent decreased by an additional 15%. To make a further effective contribution to climate protection, high-quality climate protection projects were supported that correspond to the amount of emissions generated over the financial year.
