The successful job of the Intercoop in recent years is based on the continuous strategic development and extension of its supply base. It actually includes around 400 international suppliers in the categories garden, living, do-it yourself, pet & farming and food & beverages.
But not every supplier is suitable as Intercoop-Contract supplier: The choice of suppliers is made on a strictly basis, according to their compliance with the strategic goals of the Members, which need to be audited by the Category Management.
Suppliers, which have passed successfully this selection process, then benefit of the advantages of the preferred partnership with Intercoop: From the facilitated, direct access to the Members, over the reiterated presence at in-house product fairs, up to the care through the Intercoop Category Management. Thereby the emphasis will be on the joint development of the assortment and the supply-chain optimisation.
Intercoop sees their suppliers as important partners in order to reach the defined objectives for the benefit of their Members and those of the suppliers. The high number of long-term business relationships and the high level of interest among the industry to become an Intercoop Contractual supplier, are evidence that Intercoop is and will also be in future a largely appreciated and reliable partner.

Procurement means for Intercoop more than only to negotiate attractive prices for our articles. According to the understanding of Intercoop procurement means a complete service for Members – from the product development, via quality and after-sales assurance and spare parts supply, up to the complete Supply Chain Organisation.
In two times a year Workshops, the buyers of our Members develop, together with the Intercoop Category Management-Team, impact directions for pan-European activities and define product specifications.
With these crash barriers, the suppliers are evaluated worldwide
with the best strategic fitness, selected and visited. At a personal discussion with the supplier, the product specific requirements will be discussed and the basic ability of the supplier will be audited.
We also ensure on site that the qualification of the supplier, with regard to a sustainable working method according to the BSCI-Code of Conduct, is given. Intercoop suppliers commit themselves to respect it.
